Now that the pe-2 has a cockpit it can be used on majority of eastern front maps especially on those that have area targets for the red team.

Here's my list:
Bagration
Balta
Belgorod
Berlin
Charkov
Crimea
Kerch
Kotka
Kuban /43
Kurland /44
Kursk
Motherland
Novgorod
Oder
Prokhorovka
Smolensk2
Stalingrad

for the early war sevastopol map, we need to come up with a sollution because the flyable pe-2 ruins the balance (last night we won the map with 5 pe-2 sorties and without any of the bombers shot down, thanks to short distances).

You have my explicit consent here Al, but as it happens, there would be no use in just placing the PE2 in the plane set of the afore mentioned missions without further actions taken.
Cause as it happens I do strongly believe that the balance of some of those maps will be lost simular to the Sevastoppol map yesterday.
Keeping that in mind, the best way of doing this would be to change only one map at a time and test it with some regulars for final approval. There would be really no sense in just giving the Pe2 out without any considerations.

Ju88 got added to all sorts of maps without any testing at all.
Sevastapol was made damn hard for reds ground attack when the rockets were restricted(I think because they were used to shoot up the blue airfield)
With this mission talked about above, no organised interdiction of Pe2's was attempted it seemed. I have flown Pe2's before on this map and got shot at a lot.
Any time 5 or 6 players on a side(red or blue) decide to go for mission win, on almost any map, it is over quite quickly, unless the opposition is equally determined.
The arrival of the flyable Pe2 is a very welcome change for mudmovers but we still love you Sturmovik :fluffle:

and made things a lot easier for blue, particularly in maps which there are He111-H2's not H6's :(

If people don't restrict loadouts...

And you don'T need 5 or 6 players to win a mission. That Normandy map with ships in H10 to sink for blue, I have won that mission several times on my own. You just need a good escort and you are fine with one Ju8 ;)

Yep the Ju88 is a tougher bird apart from the cockpit (all that glass) and there were maps won very quickly by mass Ju88 attacks. Understandably everyone wanted to fly the latest (famous)addition but after a few weeks the buzz had died down and now it's the 'standard' bomber choice rather than He111. The Pe2 still has this 'new bird' buzz about it and is being flown a lot more than will be the case in a month or so.
If we took as an example a mixed column of trucks and tanks. The Pe2 would destroy most of trucks with one bombload but would need a few sorties to kill the tanks. An IL2 could VAP napalm all of the trucks and shoot up a lot of tanks before running out of cannon ammo. Later war scenarios when PTAB anti-armour bomblets are available most of the column would be gone in one IL2 sortie. The Pe2 has the same bombload available regardless of version, I think it has an impact by it's inclusion but I doubt it's unbalancing generally.

I share Fireloks views on the Sevastopol map. The single fact that the Pe2 became flyable didn’t change much for reds possibilities to win this map. Returning empty and unbothered in Pe2 from tank targets I encountered another Pe2 approaching near the eastern red base, I turned and followed him to fly cover because I noticed three/four bandits low. No enemy engaged however and he arrived save at target. I entered the dogfight out of free will. In addition, during the destruction of the southern ships we were bothered not once, though we stayed there quite a while. Its not that the Pe2 is too strong or too fast, it is just left alone. Maybe a change on the map, if any, should concern blue, not red? Have to say though that I have not flown blue side often on this map.

I think alot of online Blue pilots haven't seen the Pe-2 in action and while its a twin engine plane which most people flock to attack, the Pe-2 has a very small and thin profile and the pair of rear gunners may be keeping the more warry fighter pilots away. Hard to say but I have seen the same thing...some fighter pilots seem warry to engage the Pe-2. Possibly for good reason.

Just shoot it from above or head on.
So funny when fighter pilots say that tail gunners are Łber, when they attack directly from 6.(old Ju88 and 110 pilot).

The Pe2 isn't a very strong A/C I found if you get picked up by fighters point the nose at the deck and throttle up, level out at lawnmower level and run.(In a 1940 Pe2) Diving from 3000m at full throttle with bombload some mild shaking starts at 710kph levelled out a grass height pushing 730kph from 3000m alt.
A gentle porpoising up and down gives both rear gun positions a chance to fire back and hope 'cause your chances are slim.

Right-o didn't know they were already added, thank you for that
