As mentioned in this thread Objective_Belgrade (http://www.battle-fields.com/commscentre/showthread.php?t=10202)
I've been working away at a mission based around the 1941 Yugoslavian War.
Planes...

BLUE
Bf-109E-4/B
Bf-109E-4
Bf-109E-7
CR_42
He-111H-2
Ju-87B-2
RED
P_11c
Yak-1
Bf-109E-4
HurricaneMkI
J8A
Blues have to bomb targets in and around the City, Reds have to defend.
I know these 'Defender' missionsare not always a popular design with some folks but here I couldn't really see another option.
Hopefully the unusual planeset will make up for this.Plus at the moment I haven't placed any restrictions on
plane types or finalised the total numbers of Red/Blue Planes/Pilots I want to
see how this works and adjust from there.

Your welcome mate, It'll be added to the main sequence soon. I enjoyed doing this a lot.

Yes thanks Firelock. I've only played it twice but it's very enjoyable. The plane set makes a nice change from the usual Spit or La v 109 set up.

Cheers :)

Yes indeed, this map is something special! I've played it for about three times now and I really enjoyed flying on both sides! Its great fun!

Can we please have military targets?

Applies to other maps as well. I am getting sick of killing virtual pregnant women.
H'mm every 'virtual' Sherman or StugIII contains a 'virtual' mother's son you know. Or... I've blown up a bus, it was an empty bus but now it can no longer be used by the enemy to transport war-materiel. Or... that convent was being used as the enemies HQ I have bombed it mission complete.

Here the targets are...
1. Airfield full of planes and armoured cars.
2. Station full of departing troop trains.
3. City Centre focus of political/government organisation and a number of armoured cars firing back BTW.

Flew this yesterday and really enjoyed it.

Forktailed Devil was also on and had some nice Yugo skins. He has mailed me these and have have put them up for download for those interested.

In the zip file are skins for the IK-3, Hurri, and 109

Thx Chata and FtD these are great, I lost patience trolling through the Me109 archives :)

No problem I wish I could remember where I got them. Either way if enough regulars get those Yugo skins it maybe almost historical looking.

Just noticed I missed out two skins from the pack.

I have added these to the zip file, so you may need to download it again if you have already.

Sorry bout that. :(

Could anyone add P-40Bs to this map as Yugoslavians used them?

No, they didn't. At least there are no records of them being delivered or operated by the Royal Yugoslavian Air Force.

Modernizations have been started, which caused delivery of Curtiss P-40Bs, Hawker Hurricanes Mk.I, Messerschmits Bf-109Es and producing Hurricanes licencially.

It also says that only 8 of 12 IK-2 (P.11 is a substitute) were able to fight and 6 IK-3 (Yak-1 as substitute), so

P.11 should be limited to 8 airborne 12 max and Yak-1 should be limited to 6 airborne ? max (maybe 6 too, thats not so important).

The first P-40B flew on March 13, 1941.

Axis Powers' attack on Kingdom of Yugoslavia on April 6, 1941 during World War II. The invasion ended with the unconditional surrender of the Royal Yugoslav Army on April 17, 1941.

In other news: does red actually need the P-40B on this map? It's in fact one of my favourites and I mostly feel the Hurricane, limited Bf-109E, Yak-1, P.11c and Gladiator to be a sufficient match for what blue commits to this battle.

Fergi

Ok just limit P.11s and Yak-1s.

You could add the Avia B.534 here. 14 were operated by the Yugoslavian AirForce.

rgr that, will be done later.

Current version of this map has a bug. Both sides have 109E and when you kill blue planes flying as red, you often get friendly kills.

Honestly, I think it's not a map bug nor has it anything to do with both sides having the same aircraft either.
I think FBDj has trouble with ID of enemy AI aircraft at times.
Did you attack AI planes? or was it someone else you downed? I'm thinking at the moment it was the first of these two.

If it isn't, the only solution I could think of would be to remove the Bf109 E4 from Blues leaving them with the Bf109E4/B and E/7B (altering their restrictions too.)
this would be entirely guesswork too, I have no idea if that would affect things for the better.

It's a bugger because the central attraction of Belgrade map is both sides can be in 109's, an extremely unusual situation.

Can't remember if they were all AI or humans, we just noticed that we got friendly kills. Didn't remember to ask about this earlier :)
