Idea: Earlier Bodenplatte forced Allies back into France and the Germans reclaimed a foothold in the west.

I didn't want to turn it into an über-plane map, so I left out most jets and all the boosted planes (K4, 25lbs Spit) plus the MK108 planes.

Targets

Red

HighLevel bombing of industry (10x 88mm :mp5: )
V1 sights

Blue

Shipping (KGV + PoW plus convoy)

I don't know whether we need a new late war western front map, especially one which is base on the bit overused normandy map.

I don't know whether we need a new late war western front map, especially one which is base on the bit overused normandy map.

It uses the completely unused east of it, so I'd say yes, planed to rethink the shipping targets anyway. Plus, we don't have to keep every map in the circle. I'd prefer two very good late war western maps over 4 mediocre ones.

There is only one railway line on this map and that terminates fully 10 grids away for red base. So ships only on this one, However I'm working on another using the Kurland Online map with a late44 map set based on the 'No-Ball' missions (against V1's etc.) with Blue military targets and Red, an armoured train would fit well here. NoBall is aimed at replacing the Ardennes mission we have, similar planeset but with a level bombing option as well as fighter bombers is what I'm thinking. THis is likely to take a lot longer to make than Scheldt though.

One of the attractions of this idea compared to Scheldt in terms of mappers creativity is a wider spread of objects available to use. I'm a little lost as to whether to carry on working on this idea, I've got about half the targets created and some airbase details using the central area of Kurland_Online Autumn as a replacement for Ardennes. Because my pedals are basically busted I've got a fair amount of time that should be flying time but I might as well map instead. I'm totally Ok with dropping this project in favour of Zorin's (and maybe make an effort to get a working 633Squadron/Norway map going )but I've dedicated a few hours to it already.
Planeset posted here looks great, A Normandy map again it's true but this is a very different area to what we are used to (i.e. DDay2,Channel43,Bocage)

Depending on how far you've gone with it, could you be part of a collaborative effort?Using the Kurland map and me maybe provide the skeleton in terms of base layout/v.basic targets from the work I've already put in.

I'm totally sorry for letting that idea of yours slip my mind. Wouldn't have started it if I would have remembered :wall: Sure, collaboration sounds great, but I'll be away from Wednesday till Monday. If that should cause any trouble you'd better go ahead and finish it on your own. It's on you.

Ok, I'll press on. But we should collaborate on something I think, we need to find a scenario/incident to map together in the future.:)

Looking at the base layout you've posted here above this could work as a 'Falaise Gap' idea with a mid-44 planset you should consider adapting it in that direction. People have asked for a 'Falaise' for some time now, worth thinking about.
