I'm about to make a new mission, western Europe and it will be dated around 1942/43.
Basically RAF vs Luftwaffel.

First screenie:

This is a German harbor that is about to be bombed by B24's and B17's or something else.
More cars etc. inside.

Kurland online map.
Comments welcome.

Looks yummy

Are you going to introduce fighters with big guns? If yes, then put such fighter which are a little difficult to fly :)

At least similar. I thought about adding the P47 and the BF109G6.

So it might look like:

Red:
SpitfireMKVbLF
P40E
P47D10
B24
B17
A20C

Blue:
BF109G2=12
BF109G6=no MK108
BF110G2=no MK108
FW190A4
HE111H6=2xsc2000

Looks pretty good! B-24 might actually be the most fearsome target on the map...

I would stick with the B17E and leave out the B24, IMO. Coastal command B17s with no airstart should prove to be fun.

Yep I would agree. The B-24J's are more of a later war thing anyways.

background info:
The RAF's big bombers come from over their home island and want to bomb the german coast & harbor whilst already having one foot on the german mainland. Germans have to push the Brits back but don't know how because GB is not on the map. theoretically the british forces should have their foot in the south and not in the north because France is south (west) of Germany.http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r79/Anarchrist/shot03.jpg

not perfect yet, lots of things are missing. maybe the red airstarts are too far off.
"action" base stands for bases limited to one outdated plane ready for emergency take off. not sure if reds really need one of those.

Red forces on european mainland in 42/43??

yeah, not really , i know...

defense only for blue is boring and shipping targets already are in channel42.
so maybe taking a later date or I'm out of ideas.

I'll think one more time about it, in wich direction I'll go.

How about Bremerhaven?

Originally I was inspired by the upper of the two videos of this post (http://195.149.21.233/commscentre/showpost.php?p=171373&postcount=1).
Then it will be of course a past D-Day mission.

New concept:

I'll continue my work on this mission this way or similar

If it should prove necessary, I'll replace the online version with the full version of the map.

How about something surrounding the Dieppe raid?

That would give you the option of having red ground targets on mainland Europe and around your original desired dates.

Dieppe sounds interesting, yes. I'll think about it. :)

It's an interesting period you are trying to model here, Dieppe might be a good option, tanks,landing craft etc and some offshore shipping for blues, inland reinforcements or coastal artillery for red.

You need to be very careful about having lots of objects near or in the towns on Kurland Online it's a big map and needs careful useage to stop it getting laggy.

Memel should be fine...its a relatively small town compared to some of the ones further north along the coast. Shouldn't pose any problems.
