Just played it, very good, much better than previous version.

This a new one then? I thought it was still the same 4x20mm Spitfires slaughtering zeroes, oops :o
If you look at the planeset carefully, you will see that there is no Spitfire mentioned. :p
Yes, the layout of the map and the targets are similar to the Burma map you had in mind, but the planes are the ones we had on the Solomons map.

The die is cast and I can't change it!
Now my vote haunts my remaining days.
But you can always _write_ your opinion once you've played it.
I'm glad that Smurfy considers it an improvement, haven't played it myself yet.
p.s.: I just realized I once more had forgotten to reduce the AAA of the ships involved. I have done that now.

Enjoyed the map last night .. enemy AAA is a real killer :)
Slight problem I did notice is that the ground target area for the reds is a longer flight time than it takes for the blue to reach theirs, meaning the blue fighters are able to pick off the red ground attackers 2/3rds of the way to target.
Also blue fighters are able to recover a lot faster from being shot down & get back to cover over their ground base long before a red fighter gets anywhere near this area.
Maybe moving the blue ground targets further to the west would address this problem (if possible)
For the Blue side this is not the case, for the reds to cover their ground target area is just perfect in than the blue flight time is the same as reds, so both covering red fighters & attacking enemy bombers merge almost at the same time over the target area.
Overall its nice to see this map back on the list & the plane set is a nice choice :)
Thumbs up from me

JTD a special thank you for the work you put into the maps & changes made to make the maps more enjoyable for all
The red targets have been moved away from the blue towards the red base. This may improve the game play somewhat.

Fun map, but I'd love to have the A6M2 (not the A6M2-21) here. The land-based M2 doesn't show up in any map in the rotation and it's a heck of a lot of fun to fly because of how much better it turns than the carrier-based version.
This might be a nice candidate to add the PBN Nomad given the nice natural harbor red has in the SW.

Great map and fun times but if you are going Solomons in '43 you are missing the F4U Corsair. There is only one other Map that is running the F4U-1A on the server right now. You could even add the British Corsair Mk I, as it is the same and the F4U-1 (Birdcage corsair) first deployed in the Solomons in Feb of '43. I don't think there is a single map that is running the Corsair Mk I on UK 1. The FM-2 is also a little out of place as it didn't deploy till well after the Corsair and once in the Solomons the air war was already essentially over.
Sorry, don't mean to sound all complainy. The map, targets and everything is bang on. Great fun.
