View Full Version : Another Normandy44 map
Hi guys and gals, as I feel that we've got some lack of Normandy maps, I started with one. Basically similar to Bocage, just some miles further east and dated some weeks later.
Basically it is the US army ground forces on the way to free some town from Nazi occupants and the germans waiting inside that town for the ambush.
Here some screens of what is done yet:
Same mission will be available for UKD3 too.
Nice looking! Keep it up!
What sort of planeset are you looking at?
The targets in the town, somewhat hidden between the houses:
I thought of something like SpitIX's, Tempest, Mustang, Thunderbolt, B25, A20 for reds and something like 190A/F8 maybe 190A9, 109G6/AS and 109G14, Ju88 and ME110 for blues.
[B]NO airstart for human players!
Here's the general overview:
Looks good Sonko. If Boehmer were about he'd shout at you till you gave him a Tempest. :D
I added the P-38L to the planeset, when I add the Tempest I fear none of the other planes except
the Spit will be flown so it seems better to leave it out as sad as it is...
The mission so far is pretty much finished, just the Briefing needs to be done and some sirens here and some searchlights there.
The .ini is finished already.
Red planes are without limitations, blues have MK108 wing cannons locked and the SC1800 and SC2000 are locked for the Ju88.
The airstarts are there just in case someone from the opposition is basecamping, as there are no secondary bases to switch to.
Thats also the reason for the planes at the airstarts being relatively crappy compared to the rest of the planeset.
They're there for base defense only, as it will be quite hard to get along with them further away from the base, as their performance is no real match to the other planes...maybe the 190A8 is quite capable too, but replacing the 190A8 with the 190A4 would be a bit too far off IMO..or what do you think?
Oh and the briefings are ready. So when nobody has any objections regarding the planeset or the targets (hopefully not),
I'll hand the missions over to Bladebender who loads them up to the server for testing.
