If you have asked for a room to be booked for you when you paid by credit card can you let ratso know what type of room you want?

Single = one bet
double = one bed but a double bed
twin = 2 single beds

also whether you will need a smoking room or non smoking room, just in case you are unsure you have to make your own smoke in a smoking room, they dont come pre-smoked.

Ratso will also need to know your real name so it can be used to book the room.

I now have access to all my data again following a rather catastrophic raid and windows failure last week and I am gradually getting back up to date on all the LAN stuff but it will take me a few days to do it so please bear with me. I will mail all those people that have requested a hotel room on their booking form for the required details ASAP.

Due to an error in the forms we get sent from overclock (where you place your booking) I dont have anyones e mail address. If you wanted a hotel room booking can you send me an e mail please with your room requirements on it. This needs to include:

what room you want ie single/double/twin

smoking or non smoking

your real name so I can book the room for you.

if you are sharing with another person I need both your real names and nicknames to make sure I dont double book rooms.

send you mails to hotelbookings@thefragfactory.co.uk use the subject header of "hotel booking" please.

Apparently the guy who set up our e mail stuff spelt my name wrong and used 2 "r's" in Gary instead of one therefore the mail addresses didnt work. He has sent me a list of addresses that he has now set up and you should be able to use

I have received a few mails from people for hotel rooms so the mail address must be working ok now. Sorry for any problems we had earlier. It must have been a set up glitch on the mailbox at our web hosters end. I will post a list on here of people that have booked rooms etc when I have the confirmations from the hotel.

A list will be put up with names of people who need a room and have it reserved for them as soon as I have confirmation from the hotel about each booking.

Please be aware that if you do not send me a mail with your requirements on for hotel rooms you will not have a room booked. There is nothing I can do about this at the moment due to a loss of data regarding e mail addresses for me to ask you directly about what you need.

If you haven't got in touch with me about your hotel room requirements you will NOT have a room booked. The hotel has only got a few rooms left available for the weekend of the LAN so I would advise you to hurry up and mail me if you need one.

I'm sorry to say that the hotel has now been fully booked and has no bedrooms left to book. Saying that, if you are coming to the LAN and you would like a room I am preparing a reserve list of people who want a room and if any rooms become available between now and the day of the LAN they will be allocated on a first come first served basis so make sure you get your details sent to me ASAP if you want to have a chance of a room.

I am still waiting for the following people (which includes some of the [BF] guys) to write to me and give me their details

I suppose they do not come in to the forums etc very often and will no doubt be rather upset when they find out they haven't got a hotel room booked but I have no option to book a room for them if I dont have their details.

Maybe some one will be happy to share the floor with some of the guys who cant get a room, and I suppose if people doss under the tables the hotel cant complain if they dont have any rooms left to sell.

They told me they had no rooms at all left. I didn't have a resritiction on how many rooms I could have and all members that go to the LAN should get the same discount regardless. I will look in to this asap.

Right after speaking to the hotel directly I found out some things. Firstly the room that Caliban booked was taken through a travel agent who has a certain number of rooms on allocation only to them but what the hotel said is that its likely they will have to "bump" anyone who uses these rooms to another hotel, the reasons for this are mainly becuase they are overbooked and unless some rooms become free due to cancellations or no shows then them people wont be able to stay at that particular hotel.

TFF have a notice in place at the hotel to have the first refusal on ANY rooms that become available beween now and the LAN regardless of who else has any "allocated rooms" I asked to have first refusal and told the hotel that I wanted it because the people that are going to our event wont want a room in a nearby hotel as they aint sightseers etc but are actually attending an event that we are holding at their hotel and they agreed to this.

So the short version is this. If you try to book a room through another organisation even if they tell you that there are rooms free at the North Stafford hotel on the sat 16th you will probably end up being shunted to another hotel. On the other hand if you send me your details I can add you to our reserve list and you may find you have a better chance of actually getting a room.

I dont have a restriction on the number of rooms I can have and ANY rooms that are booked THROUGH US will get the room at the discounted rate. this will NOT apply if you use another booking agent or ring up yourself etc.

I hope this has cleared up that issue, if not then just post on here or speak to me in IRC and I will try to explain it better.
