"MUSTANG" - compilation of online air victories

    Mission4Today

DBS FTP - Direct Download (right click and "Save as")

    (.wmv, size: 178 MB)

    - after 3 weeks of constant cuting and pasting tracks, editing them into the video... it is finaly done.

Half a year back I started to record all of my Mustang sorties with an intention to put them into a video. Unfortunately some of my favourite ones I lost (don't ask how), some of them had to be thrown away due to wrong markings and so on...

This has been a great learning period for me as well in creating IL2 videos. - Some things are worth mentioning - K-14 gunsight is shown on only one occasion, and so are bullet holles. I had to re-record and cut out dogfight scenes from over hour long tracks for easier and faster filming. These things don't show up after you re-record the track. Also, radiator always shows as open on all tracks.

(Reason why it isn't uploaded to YouTube is because I recorded it in high resolution)

Well, here it is, I hope you like it. I'm going back to flying now.

That was excellent thor, loved the bit at the start of the 4th song where you are sneaking up on a 109 then the song kicks in and it bursts into flames. Anyone wanna go fly the mustang now?

    Brilliant work!

Those graphics look very crisp. Are you running in 1600x1200?

I timed music with videos, yeah.

@ Finn, it was recorded in 1280x1024 resolution - LCD native. With 4xAA.

Very enjoyable and beautifully put together.

Hopefully encourage more people to fly the P51, for such an important and capable WWII fighter it's sadly underrepresented in our online world.

It's nice there's lots of through the gunsight footage here to see what sort of lead you are pulling to get good hits on target.

    Very well done!

I loved the side by side of the green noses (359th), but then, I'm a bit biased.

    Great shooting!

    Thanks again guys.

Sorry Zorin, you are in one of them. As are many other BFs and UKD regulars. But I'll keep this for myself.

Not biased at all Guse, your skins are outstanding and as you can see we use them allot.

To answer this and other queations about my settings for P-51...

My convergence is set on 200 meters.

Trim for both rudder and elevators is on keyboard.

I keep radiators closed and fly mainly on 100% throttle. If she overheats just drop PP to 80% or open radiators to 2 if you're climbing.

Stick settings: all axes on 100.

Yeah, there is one titled "HAPPY". I remember seeing it while browsing through whole 359th.

We flew for a short time only during left turn that day, otherwise I'd put a longer clip in. If you want I'll send you a short track I cut out from that day - used in the video.
