Post away. What are your thoughts about the mission. Pros and Cons. Whatever you feel necessary to say about it.

    1. We need more TS channels. At least the fighters do. Each flight should have one and a whisper button to speak to all fighters, or something of that sort. There was little point in using my mic tonight as there would have been no difference between 10 or 11 guys shouting at eachother simultaneously.

    2. How balanced did the numbers feel for you? Just right or should we have a look at this?

    3. ToD and weather: Ok or in need of fixing?

    1. i really need to get my pc fixed so i can use a mic

    2. maybe we should set a certain prep time for the server to be setup - the partaking pilots wouldn't have to be present during that time though.

    3. certain issues (as in who's whose wingman) could be discussed on the forum

    4. i agree on the TS issue - i had a very hard time filtering any messages which were intended for me.

    5. the mission settings were just fine

P.S. you don't want to know how many times we almost collided zorin

    edit:

    did we win?

The server is currently booting anyone off who tries to join, and has disappeared off Hyperlobby as well, perhaps the person who re-instated the previous settings could have a look and rectify it, if they haven`t gone to bed.

    Thx

    1. We need to try the game(before) so it will run ok when needed. I know that sometimes it takes time to upload a map. But no such thing that no one knows what to do. Like pass thing etc.

    2. TS chanels for each flight(2-4 planes) like we used to have on Server Wars. And different key to talk all, and one key to talk own flight. Then the FINN flight can sing if they want to, and so on.

But the event was very good!!!! Long time for me to fly locked pit(year or so). And I got 4-5 spits on 1 flight(damn Im good ) but finally I bailed due to a Spits....

Big for who made this, I love it.

There where objects in the middle of the runway at the bomber base and
objects very, very close to the taxi way. It hindered out t-off and caused
    accidents at landing.

I'm very sorry about that and I have taken care off it. I hope the maintenance scenery at the spawning field didn't cause any trouble?

    No, didn't see them.
Did you remove the crates between the runway and taxi way too?

We had "whisper to" keys set up so it wasn't quite as bad for the REDs I think

The password needs to be less public for the next Dedicated mission, I'm pretty sure some people who were in the server didn't quite know the whole story behind what we were doing.

Was great fun though, wingmanship was brilliant and what surprised me was how "different" and immersive the whole thing felt even thought it was basically a pre-planned night on UKD3.

    Thanks to all involved

All objects close to the main runway have been removed.

    Thanks Zorin & Chata

Personally had a fairly depressing time - not helped by 'external things' - my son being a pain-in-the-neck. So I was distracted and had to leave early.
Apologies to RedFox for being a poor wingman.

Were there any rules for the mission? Previously we've had quite a complete set - specifically regarding death and what happens next ()

    Thanks Zorin and Chatta.

    Here are my observations.

    - RED team was fairly well organised. Several people had TS whispers set in the bomber group and in the fighters. We comunicated with no problems.

    - Most RED fighters had their skins, each bomber wore a different skin and it can be seen on the tracks.

    - I think BLUEs needed at least two channels, one for 109 pilots and one for 190 pilots. Whispers are the key.

    Ok, now for the mission.

    - I think Spit mkVs aren't a match for LV planes in this mission. Too slow, little ammo and way short range to be used on escort duties. MKIX's were our only hope. I talked after the mission to some people who flew Spits and they said they just couldn't follow 190 and even 109s... My oppinion is to use MKIXs only.

    - The mission. We did 2 runs, both times scoring direct hits on enemy targets. Falaise and St. Paul were hit hard. You got us the first time, nut didn't prevent us from bombing. S!

    Organisation remarks:

    - Skins need to be 'fed' to the server before the mission. Unless server desn't have the skins rest of us won't see them. And also I understand BLUE team had problems with skin installing. This should be adressed as well.

    - Server settings - I don't think I need to emphasisse this as we all know this now - a night before there must be a test to insure that server has the proper settings. Most of people on red including myself turned off icons just to make it more real.

    - Bomber airfield problems were adressed so I don't need to mention them.

    - - - - -

Expect AARs and Screenshots soon. We had another bomber practice on Friday, with heavy oposition (nothing like Algore and Finn) and there was a movie made out of this. So I'll be posting it here soon.

    Stay tuned.

The formation was (as already mentioned in game) Beautiful, top quality - was a pleasure to escort and must have been quite a sight from the blue point of view as well.

    Brilliant fun.

Some points and it will be even better.

    #1 Seperate channels for flights.

#2 One or two testruns before the actual event so we can save time, my one hour delays was quite accurate

#3 Possibly hold it on UKD2 next time? UKD3 had over 20 players when it was reset and the event started. UKD2 was empty.

#4 Password doesn't go in the public bathroom, please

#5 Spitfire Mk.Vs were a bit obsolete against FW-190s. Didn't see them as a threat when I engaged the bombers.

Can we see a similar scenario in early -43 timeset with early Razorback P-47 or P-51s in escort duty getting intercepted by Bf-109G-6s / FW-190A-6s?

All valid points that should be easy to incorporate in the next run.

But one thing really bugs me, why do people have such problems installing skins? It's not like it is witch work, only copy and paste. Guess we need to make a teaching video or something about it.

@Finn: An early 1944 scenario you mean, right? Otherwise we can't have a mix of 47 and 51.

I had a great time, I even made it back after being tore up by some finely piloted German aircraft! but I was killed on my 1 engine landing with a left collapsable landing gear.

Thank you all, and will see you for the next round

On the Red side players were using a mixture of Imperial or Metric to give heights on TS. I would have thought Imperial was the correct one to use but at least we should have agreed on a common measure. It seems reasonable to use the same system as the aircaft instruments.
