    Basic mod pack plane upgrade

      - Use this to add the additional planes, if you have only downloaded the basic mod pack before.

    All in one mod pack
    • DBS_ModPack

    MODS FOR DBS PILOTS FOR HSFX SERVERS STOCK AND EXPERT :

    • PAL-HUDConfig-v41213
    • Zorin_Arms
    • AG-51_LSO_Cam_2.2_for_HSFX7

    • DBS_ModPack_NonExpert.rar
      - No additional ships and planes which could become mandatory for specific BF3 DBS missions are contained.

    1 Recommend not using this mod unless we fly night missions.

    2 If you prefer stock effects over the HSFX7 ones enable this.

    3
    !UPDATE! Not compatible with missions using HSFX 7.0.3 triggered Hud Messages feature. Therefore it is disabled by default. In case you already have downloaded the mod, go to jsgmemods\[DBS base Mod Pack Variant]\mods and disable this mod by renaming the folder "00_PAL-HUDConfig-v4121" into "- 00_PAL-HUDConfig-v4121". If no such messages are used, you can reenable the mod by removing "- ".

    In conf.ini add the following lines at the end:
    [Mods]
    SpeedbarSpdKMH=1
    SpeedbarSpdMPH=1
    SpeedbarSpdKnots=1
    SpeedbarAltMeters=1
    SpeedbarAltFeet=5
    SpeedbarTAS=1
    SpeedbarUnits=4
    FullSpeedbar=1
    BombSightAssist=3
    BombSightAssistConf=3

    For other recommended settings see this thread: new and max settings [conf.ini]

    Post below any mods you feel that should be added.

    If you miss the former HUD feedback messages (i.e. f.g. "gears down, gears up, bombdoor open/ closed") which was reduced in expert mode, use copies of the expert mods without the i18n folders. This only affects the changes the expert mode does to the hud.

    The night Bombsites have a bug with the Do 17 s' pilot position. You cannot see through the canopy windows.

    Download link for 00_PAL-HudConfigHSFX6:
    http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.ph....0;attach=5592

    From the readme of a former version:

    Configuration:

    To make it work you have to set some lines at the [Mods] section of your conf.ini in your main IL-2 folder. Here is a sample:
    The basic options are these:

    [Mods]
    BombSightAssist=1
    BombSightAssistConf=3
    MixedSpeedbar=1
    FullSpeedbar=1
    PALMODsColor=1
    ShowSIToo=1

    The BombSightAssist determines the operation of the MOD:
    0: Off, no bombsight information is shown.
    1: bombsight information in the Bombardier cockpit only.
    2: bombsight information in Pilot and Bombardier cockpits.
    3: bombsight information in any cockpit view of the plane.

    The BombSightAssistConf determines which information is shown:
    0: Nothing.
    1: Only bombsight angle.
    2: Bombsight angle + time to ground.
    3: Bombsight angle + time to ground + horizontal distance to target.

    The MixedSpeedbar determines:
    0: You can only see the information of your plane in the speedbar (even when switching to another plane).
    1: You can see in the speedbar the information of other planes in outside view.

    The FullSpeedbar determines:
    0: You only see HDG info if the user or campaign settings specify NoSpeedBar setting.
    1: You always see Speed, Altitude and HDG info even if the user or campaign settings specify NoSpeedBar.

    The PALMODsColor determines:
    0: It will work the standard stock way, the color is always red for planes of any army.
    1: It will show you the speedbar text (as the HUD messages) according to your army (Blue or Red), in a lighter Blue or Red when you change the external view to other same army flight or gray when you are seeing the properties of an enemy plane (as stated before not available in Multiplay missions).

    The ShowSIToo determines:
    0: The operation is the same as the original Bomb Assist Speedbar and HUD Mod.
    1: Apart from the units determined by SpeedbarUnits, you always have the SI (International System) present too (default is active).

    All the original functions of the HUDconfig are still the same (refer to the other MOD help for details):
    SpeedbarTAS
    SpeedbarUnits
    SpeedbarSpdKMH
    SpeedbarSpdMPH
    SpeedbarSpdKnots
    SpeedbarAltMeters
    SpeedbarAltFeet
    HUDGauges

    Here I give just an example of a full configuration for the MOD, it will show all metric units in 1 by 1 increment, the Bomb Assist info will be only available in the bombardier position and the Speedbar info will be in different colors and different for every plane:

    [Mods]
    SpeedbarTAS=1
    SpeedbarUnits=1
    SpeedbarSpdKMH=1
    SpeedbarSpdMPH=1
    SpeedbarSpdKnots=1
    SpeedbarAltMeters=1
    SpeedbarAltFeet=1
    HUDGauges=1
    BombSightAssist=1
    BombSightAssistConf=3
    MixedSpeedbar=1
    FullSpeedbar=1
    PALMODsColor=1
    ShowSIToo=1
    My configuration:

    Code:
    [Mods]
    SpeedbarSpdKMH=1
    SpeedbarSpdMPH=1
    SpeedbarSpdKnots=1
    SpeedbarAltMeters=1
    SpeedbarAltFeet=5
    SpeedbarTAS=1
    FullSpeedbar=1
    BombSightAssist=3
    BombSightAssistConf=3
    New 10.2013:
    SpeedbarUnits gives you the TAS instead of the IAS on the HUD:

    Code:
    [mods]
    SpeedbarUnits=4 (TAS SI, International System)
    SpeedbarUnits=5 (TAS GB, British Imperial)
    SpeedbarUnits=6 (TAS US, US Imperial)
    You can only choose one option at a time. (The bracketed stuff does not go into the conf.ini.)

    conf.ini settings added

    First post updated according to the info you posted El_Marta. The way I see it is like this: when we fly as a group we have to do multiple chores at once, namely navigating, flying and bombing at the same time. Real WW2 bombers had crews with separate chores doing individual tasks. And this is just what this mod will enable us doing - focusing on flying and not worry too much about other stuff in the plane.

    Therefore, you should enable BombSightAssist=3 to see the bomb angle even when in pilots position. =3 makes it so that you can see it in any position which might be unnecessary, but due to sheer mod complexity and the fact this mod doesn't register (show up for) some bombers (e.g. Do-17), we have to use =3 setting.

    FullSpeedbar=1 we want enabled when flying on servers with speedbar disabled. I admit that this is somewhat a cheat since it will bring us full speedbar again, but thats just how it is.

    I've just tested this and I have no such problems. It seems as the mod isn't working with Do-17 for me (I get normal bright crosshairs). If you have problems with it just disable it, IIRC it is purely cosmetic and won't affect the rest of the mod install.

    Not sure. I think fusek had some problems updating it. Please look into it if you have the time.

    CRT2 would be desired if possible.

    its mostly a SEOW feature, you can also use it from FMB (rtm ) - its a special set of artillery objects which shoot at predefined coordinates (opposed to direct fire towards "visible" enemy units) with variable shot frequency...

    cheers

    I don't believe you can use CRT1 or CRT2 with ANY mods implemented (HSFX)

    I just checked...the BF-3 is running HSFX 6 and 'Expert Mode' enabled. You'll have to do the same Smurfy.
    'Advanced Barrage Mode' is enabled...but I don't know if that's mandatory on client side.

    I think that should be reflected in the Hyperlobby description...it isn't.

    I don't know if the HSFX 6.01 patch has been applied.
    Note: It may not be needed. It seems to address issues with players using or not using HSFX and does help some things on BF1.

    Cheers

    So this is just for the ground units? Does it have anything to do with flak?

    Thanks for clearing this up, I guess we can disable this unless doing some ground pounding missions. First post edited.

    Yes, since the mod exists on the server, you may be able to do it. Try it. Just change the CheckRunTime=0 in the conf.ini to a 1 or 2. I warn you, CRT=2 can cause problems between OS's.

    That is some proper mod soup you got there!

    The only thing I am running on top of the mods listed in the first post here is the stuff Finn posted about.

    What does this HSFX_fix Cowling Engines & prop mod do? Together with that I am intersted in Zorin's bomb mods and that smoke mod you posted. Any chance you can pack them into an .rar and upload somwhere?

    I can give you access to out FTP server if you need.
